    This is a workshop about Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.

    The vision for the workshop is:

    • To take a significant step toward embedding DEI into our leadership and organizations
    • To create and maintain a culture of empathy
    • To commit to ongoing engagement in candid and courageous conversations
    • To actively work to build a safe and inclusive space for all
    Jai also talks about DEI Heart Strides: The process of transforming “heart” and mind in DEI social justice work. And starting the journey to Allyship.

    S. Jai Simpson-Joseph, Esq.

    Jai is a graduate of Stanford Law School with over twenty years of expertise working for social change, equity and transformative justice for highly vulnerable populations. Evening the scales of justice for all with radical compassion is a mission she has practiced on her journey as an attorney, author, change management specialist and coach. A member of the California State Bar, her specialized areas of focus include ground-breaking legislation and prevention/ intervention programs for survivors of child sex trafficking, anti-bullying and educational equity initiatives, intimate partner violence, homelessness and advocacy for children of the imprisoned. Her career uniquely spans the legal, political, and educational fields, coming full circle in the launch of Wings UpRising A Social Good Practice that supports corporations and nonprofits in actualizing their social justice initiatives. A diversity, equity and inclusion specialist, Jai brings her vision to bear as a Graceful Warrior in this work, serving as a DEI Specialist In Residence for nonprofits and corporations. She teaches the Legal and Ethical Environment of Business and Business, Value and You at Georgia State University. Jai's career includes serving as past legal counsel to the Mayor Los Angeles, past professor of Constitutional Law and Advanced Marketing for Nonprofits at the University of Judaism and past executive director of youthSpark, a Georgia pioneer in the anti-child sex trafficking movement, a movement in which she has been a voice for change since 2007. She is the author of And How My Spirit Soars: Learning to Pack for an Extraordinary Journey.
