Personal “re-branding” is necessary any time one changes professional roles. The concept of personal branding is fairly straightforward: it is a strategic activity by which a reputation is built. Visuals, verbiage and details such as font and color choice can positively (and negatively) affect public perception of a brand and its value.

In this session, I will discuss how to update your LinkedIn profile with particular emphasis on those transitioning from the field of education into instruction design.

Title: Executive Career Coach/Instructional Designer
Bio: Julie Chahboune is an instructor, designer, writer and career coach. Since 2002, she has been providing career counseling in a variety of settings from university career centers to non-profits. Eight years ago, she discovered a passion for college-level teaching which led to a graduate certification in Instruction Design and Technology. She is now utilizing her years of classroom and coaching experience to create instruction on a variety of career-related topics such as branding, networking and upskilling.
Recent projects include the development of onboarding materials, a strategic networking workshop, and e-learning courses on job searching for international students and strategic networking. In addition to the Association for Talent Development, she is also a member of the Southern Foodways Association and hopes one day to share her passion for Southern food history and culture by educating others on the origins and history of the foods most commonly enjoyed in the South.
