TAKING YOUR WEBINAR FROM GOOD TO GREAT!

Webinars are here to stay. As trainers we can expect to spend more time conducting seminars in online or virtual environments than we did in the past.  How do we transition from face-to-face to online learning environments?  What makes one webinar mediocre while another is deemed highly successful? How do we keep clients coming back for more?

In this session we will discuss strategies for delivering great webinars using real-life success stories from award-winning online trainings that have:

  • Drawn 715 attendees in a single session;
  • Reached 85 worldwide locations in 10 time zones;
  • Resulted in 100% of participants indicating their ability to perform their job was improved by virtue of attending the webinar series.

Refreshments & Networking from 6:00-6:30

Facilitated by Janet Sylvia, a Digital Media Professional at the University of Georgia (UGA). She has worked with online teaching and learning for 15 years. In March 2010 she joined colleagues in accepting UGA’s induction into the Wimba Hall of Fame for Excellence in Collaboration, making UGA one of five institutions worldwide to receive this honor for their innovative and creative use of Wimba Collaboration Suite.  In May 2010 Janet’s team from UGA Cooperative Extension received the University System of Georgia (USG) Wimba Innovator Award for their success in "Using Wimba to Reach Large Audiences."  Her December 2011 webinar entitled "Section 508 Compliance and Online Course Content" drew one of the largest registrations to-date for the USG Online Faculty Development Series; the post-session archive recording was downloaded 1,264 times in a 3-week timeframe.  Janet has frequently been invited to speak as part of the online Distinguished Lecture Series; she also provides trainings for statewide and national Extension audiences including "Interactivity in Online Trainings: Keeping Your Audience Engaged."
