CJ Walker is originally from the southside of Chicago, is an Army Veteran and studied business management at Southern Illinois University. She is a licensed realtor in both Georgia and Florida. CJ started her career at Home Depot Headquarters in 2014, as a customer service rep. Her strong work ethic, dedication and enthusiastic attitude led to an offer to be a “New Associate Coach”, coaching new hires from the training room to success. Since working at Home Depot, she realized overcoming her public speaking fear was a necessity to raise her own value. She joined several Toastmasters clubs in Home Depot including Talking Aprons and Talking THDHR. CJ claims she was “drinking the Toastmasters Kool-Aid” after her very first meeting. In the Toastmasters organization she has held various officer positions with increasing responsibilities. In her role as Vice President of Education, she discovered her passion to inspire growth and development, increasing other’s personal equity. CJ has won several speech contests, earned multiple advanced leadership and communications awards, and currently serves as District 44 Area Director managing 5 Toastmasters clubs. She will earn the highest level of achievement in Toastmasters, Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) in June 2019. CJ is also a Trainer at the Home Depot headquarters, where she is doing exactly what she loves to do, increasing other’s personal equity! CJ owes much of her success to Toastmasters, as the organization has groomed her for true servant leadership, dynamic communication and increased her value as an asset to all she encounters
