Leadership Academy is a prestigious, invitation only event for our local chapter members who currently volunteer or are interested in volunteering for the chapter.

This event gives you the opportunity to network with other chapter volunteers and leaders, and exposes you to current and future possibilities for volunteering.

Details of each volunteer area will be discussed by current leaders. They will also give a broader understanding of ATD and its role in the community.

This will be an action-packed day. One of the highlights will be an interactive session called How to Build a Team that Everyone Wants to Join by Leigh Ann Rodgers co-founder of Better Teams. This training will focus on the differences between “regular” teams and volunteer teams. You won’t want to miss it!

A full breakfast will be served along with lunch.

How to Build a Team that Everyone Wants to Join

In this highly-interactive workshop, you will unpack the “5 key qualities of better teams” including practical ways to cultivate them. Whether you lead a work team or a volunteer team, an understanding of these fundamental characteristics will guide you to build a team that attracts and retains talented, committed team members. You will walk away with self-selected strategies to strengthen your existing team regardless of your role.

As an IAF Certified Professional Facilitator with 20 years of experience in the human development field, Leigh Ann is a skilled meeting facilitator, trainer, and coach working across the globe to help leaders cultivate cultures that are both highly productive and positive. Motivated to provide solutions for the common challenges that all leaders and organizations face, she channeled her passions into creating the Better Teams Model and Assessment which includes five components, all critical for a high-performing team: Alignment, Readiness, Happiness, Leadership, and Trust. She has also developed Team Building In-A-Box, a self-guided workshop kit for leaders based on DISC communications styles that is used by teams around the world.
