As part of our Community Involvement strategy, ASTD Greater Atlanta will continue to support those in need of life's most basic necessities, food.  Last year, we donated over 625 food items, planted a community garden, and participated in a volunteer day at the Atlanta Community Food Bank (ACFB) sorting food to be distributed to families in need.  Thank you for your generosity and support.  We have begun to make a dent in an enormous challenge facing many of our citizens in our local communities.  The need is great and we want to do even more.   

In 2011, we are challenging our membership to rise to the occassion and be even greater.  This year, we plan to raise more than 1000 food items in support of the Atlanta Community Food Bank. 

You can help the cause in a variety of ways: 

1.  Help by bringing food items to SIG/GIG, and chapter meetings each and every time. 

2.  We are forming a walk/run team to raise funds that will benefit the ACFB.  Join us on March 13th for the Hunger Walk/Run 2011 at Turner Field.  Join in, raise funds, and get some exercise too!  Click on the following links for details:

3.  Participate in our ACFB volunteer days at the ACFB facilities in June and December.  Dates will be posted to the ASTD website soon.
