Program

Effective use of social media technologies can help to enhance and extend workplace training and learning efforts. With much of the current talk on social media and social learning occuring at the 50,000 foot level, training and learning professionals report that it offers few ideas for application to their work.

This session takes a 100-foot view of concrete, specific uses for using social media tools to enhance and extend existing training programs. While it primarily addresses use of Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Blogs, and Wikis (including some discussion of private, alternatives), the emphasis is on recognizing any new social media tool at their root purpose rather than at face value.

Speaker

Jane Bozarth is an internationally known trainer, speaker, and author. A training practitioner since 1989, Jane holds an M.Ed. in Training and Development and a doctorate in Adult Education. She is the author of several books: Pfeiffer’s E-Learning Solutions on A Shoestring; Better Than Bullet Points; From Analysis to Evaluation; and, with Jim Kouzes & Barry Posner, The Challenge Continues workshop package.

Jane Bozarth’s new book, Social Media for Trainers, offers concrete ideas for using social media tools to enhance and extend workplace training efforts. Following a 10-year stint as a member of Training Magazine’s “In Print” book review team, She began writing Learning Solutions Magazine’s popular “Nuts and Bolts” column.

In addition to her work as Elearning Coordinator for the state of North Carolina,USA, Dr. Bozarth has a longstanding collaborative relationship with InSync Training, LLC and serves as their Social Media Strategist.

Jane Bozarth is the recipient of a Live and Online Award, a Training Magazine Editor’s Pick Award, and a North Carolina State University Distinguished Alumni Award for Outstanding Contributions to Practice.

Take I-75/85 North to the Andrew Young International Blvd. exit. Go to the second light, which is Fort St. Turn left on Fort St., which will become International Blvd. Continue straight to the fifth light, which is Spring St, one block past Peachtree St. Turn right on Spring St. Take the fourth right onto W. Peachtree Place. Southern Company Center and the parking deck entrance are on your left. To access the second entrance to the parking deck, continue on West Peachtree Place and turn left onto West Peachtree Street. The second entrance is on your left, but is for monthly card holders only.

From North

Take I-75/85 South to the Williams St. exit. Go to the second traffic light, which is West Peachtree Place. Turn left onto West Peachtree Place. Go through one traffic light, one block past Spring St. Southern Company Center and the parking deck entrance are on your left. To access the second entrance to the parking deck, continue on West Peachtree Place and turn left onto West Peachtree Street. The second entrance is on your left, but is for monthly card holders only.

Parking

Employee parking is located on the upper levels of the parking deck and is accessible via the "Up" ramp. Guest parking is located on the lower levels and is accessible via the "Down" ramp.
