Adelman
President
<p>Dave has been a member of the Atlanta Chapter since he moved to Atlanta in 2008. He has served the chapter as VP Community Relations, Director of Employee Learning Week, and various Director roles within Community Relations including: Atlanta Habitat for Humanity, Goodwill, Atlanta Community Food Bank, United Way, and Strategic Partnerships.</p> <p>Dave is the Director of Training Services for Leadership Strategies, the Facilitation Company. In his role he teaches and certifies trainers on the company’s courses, manages the Core Team of Instructors and Facilitators, leads the Product Development Team, serves as a consultant for various clients, and is part of the Leadership Team.</p> <p>Dave has more than 25 years of experience as a Training Leader, Instructional Designer, Facilitator, e-Learning Designer, and Project Manager with world-class companies including Disney and Merck. He is an experienced consultant to senior leadership with deep experience in assessing training needs, identifying performance improvement opportunities, and delivering performance improvement interventions. Dave's experience includes creating comprehensive, branded, measurable training processes for the organization that are integrated with the talent management process, address performance gaps, and minimize costs while maximizing return on investment.</p> <p>When not working, Dave is a Brother in the Knights of Columbus, and is a member of the 2018 Catholic Charities Atlanta Leadership Class. He is also an award-winning home brewer and Certified Beer Judge. Dave enjoys spending time with his family, reading, hiking, and traveling.</p>

Campbell
President Elect
Brett serves as a facilitator, content writer and client relations manager for Converging Solutions, a consulting firm that provides learning, communication, and performance solutions for medium to large organizations. Prior to his work at Converging Solutions, Brett served as a department head with The Home Depot. He also spent numerous years in a non-profit space specializing in public speaking, leadership training and development, life coaching, and conflict resolution. Brett’s commitment to equipping others for growth (both in their professional and personal lives) is fueled by a passion for learning and driven by his ideal of servant leadership. ATD has been a huge catalyst in his professional development which easily motivates him to cultivate a similar experience for others who choose to participate in ATD.<br><br> Brett graduated from Radford University with a B.S. in Business Marketing. He put that degree on hold while he served in the United States Army, as an Infantry officer and Airborne Ranger with the 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault). Nowadays, he enjoys listening to most genres of music, reading a good book or exploring new productivity apps. <br><br> Brett (classic “type A”) and his wife (classic “type” B) have been enjoying the swirl for many years. With two of their three children having grown up, and moved out, they live in Holly Springs with their youngest daughter.

Chief Financial Officer
<p><strong>Polly Thombley, CFO</strong></p> <p>Polly Thombley is the Chief Financial Officer of the Greater Atlanta Chapter of ATD. As CFO, she ensures that chapter funds are used to fulfill its mission while complying with chapter by-laws, ATD CARE requirements, and state and federal reporting requirements. The CFO monitors income and expenses over the year, presenting financial reports monthly to the Executive Board.</p> <p>Polly is an Instructional Designer, known for creating engaging learning experiences, and is currently accepting full-time, part-time, or contract work for innovative companies devoted to performance improvement.</p> <p>Polly brings to ATD, and everything she does, her passion for quality, her rich life experience, and her competence in education, technology, finances, and small business. She has her bachelor’s degree in education and has been involved in non-traditional elementary education for many years. Seeking a better fit for her gifts and experience, she discovered instructional design and began updating her skills by joining ATD in 2014. She received the chapter scholarship and has since earned two certifications from ATD in Designing Learning and Scenario-based E-learning. She designed courses with ATD’s Community Relations team at Goodwill, Habitat for Humanity, and Must Ministries. Polly facilitated bimonthly Word and Excel classes for adults at the Goodwill Career Center for more than a year. She has also created several e-learning classes with Converging Solutions. In 2017, she stepped into the CFO role and has enjoyed giving back to ATD Greater Atlanta and getting to know her talent development colleagues better. Polly says, “You really do get more when you volunteer!”</p> <p>Polly lives in Cumming with her husband. They have four children, 2 girls and 2 boys. They have attended Browns Bridge Church for more than ten years.</p>

VP, Marketing and Communications
Bethany is currently serving as Director of Global Community Management with an edtech startup. Prior to this role, she spent 10 years teaching in public schools in Michigan. When her husband’s job led to a relocation to Atlanta, she explored opportunities to step into professional development and facilitation and went back to school to get her certificate in social media marketing. Bethany’s background in both education and marketing allows for a unique offering. It is this background, and her passion for both the training and development and marketing fields, that led her to ATD. <br><br> Bethany graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a B.S. in Elementary Education and an M. Ed. in Educational Media and Technology. While no longer in the classroom, she loves working with students and teachers in the edtech world. <br><br> Currently, Bethany resides, in Canton with her husband, son, and daughter. He also provides coaching services for all levels of management. Robb Bingham, Learning & Communications Strategist, Converging Solutions<br> (M.Ed., Curriculum and Instruction, University of South Florida) holds multiple awards for helping companies get strategic with training – especially in the space where learning intersects with communications and performance improvement. One company estimates a measurable savings of $3.7 million within the first year of implementing one of Robb’s design solutions.<br><br> Mr. Bingham has served organizations in a number of different roles, from Trainer, Designer, Developer, and Producer, to Team Lead, National Curriculum Manager, and External Consultant. However, he most enjoys helping start-up and new initiative teams work together developing new, creative solutions to relevant business problems using a framework he coined the Converging Solutions Problem Solving Model.<br><br> Robb also spent several years (back in the dark ages) performing and directing on the dinner theatre circuit. Previously Don was a learning leader at Delta Air Lines and WellStar Health System. Don has a MA in Journalism and Mass Communication and BA in History from the University of Georgia. Richard Fletcher is a well travelled southerner with an award-winning record of success managing corporate training departments, with special expertise in the retail and restaurant sectors. He excels at building and leading top-performing teams, improving training compliance as much as 300%, and promoting increased employee engagement. His teams have previously saved millions of dollars in training costs, implemented critical learning tools, and oversaw employee education for as many as 20,000 employees.<br><br> Richard has over 25 years of executive level experience in sales, operations, organizational development, training and talent management with other national companies such as Krystal, Wolf Camera, Zaxby’s and Sprint PCS.<br><br> Richard is a member of ATD currently serves as Sr. Advisor for ATD Atlanta. He is a Past-President of the Greater Atlanta chapter and served as chair of the chapter recognition committee for ATD and a national advisor for chapters. <br><br> Richard received a Bachelor of Science degree from Auburn University. He is a certified EQ-I, EQ-360 administrator and has received the Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT) certification from CHART. Robert Panetti has been a Learning and Performance Strategist in the Atlanta area since 1999. He has done work for IBM, Beazer Homes, Amdocs, NCR and others. He is currently a consultant with Slalom and focuses on clients in the Financial and Public Sectors. He firmly believes that the human mind is not a vessel to be filled, but a fire to be kindled. That learning how to learn, unlearn and learn again is the most valuable skillset one could possess. <br><br> Robert is a proud graduate of Florida State University and an avid follower of their football program. <p>Julie Padgett is Manager of Learning Execution with The Home Depot and has been with the company 14 yrs. Julie and her team are responsible for the Distance Learning program which she helped launch in 2010. Through this program, the trainers reach thousands of associates a month across the U.S., including Alaska and Hawaii, totaling 47,000+ associates receiving Distance Learning training in 2015. Julie has received many awards during her yrs. with the company including 2 of The Home Depot’s highest award, the Executive Homer Award, for going above and beyond. <br><br> Julie is a passionate facilitator, manager, project manager and coach who thrives on helping others reach their potential. She has facilitated classes to a variety of learners, some of which include Coaching, Developing Teams, Branding Yourself, Leadership Acumen along with several other classes. She is MBTI certified and has a Project Management certification from Franklin-Covey. <br><br> Volunteerism is a passion for Julie who has been a member of several organizations and teams throughout the years. She has organized events for Boy Scouts with over 400 attendees, is a member of The Home Depot’s Women’s Link, and was on the Women’s Link Board in 2015 for their annual Forum which hosted 500 Home Depot associates. Julie has been a member of the Greater Atlanta ATD and ATD National for several years.
