    Position Description
    We are in search of an Education Specialist who possesses advanced skills, knowledge, and abilities in professional education administration. This position will report to the organization’s Director of Education and assist in planning and administering eight week-long professional schools and five symposia.

    Skills Required:

    • Understanding of ADDIE instructional design model;
    • Ability to correlate stated learning objectives with curriculum;
    • Independent and self-starter with multi-tasking capabilities;
    • Able to coordinate activities in meeting set due dates;
    • Command of English grammar for use in curriculum proofing and editing;
    • High organizational skills with attention to detail;
    • Ability to interact and communicate with members with high level of professionalism.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Degree in Education (Instructional Design a bonus);
    • Minimum of three years’ experience in a similar professional education role.

    Computer Skills Required:

    • Advanced skills in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook;
    • Ability to learn basic skills in Access and organization-specific software.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Update PowerPoint presentations for programs
    1. Ensure a high-level of professionalism is maintained;
    2. Update presentations annually based on SME submissions;
    3. Maintain consistent layouts for each program;
    4. Enhance written materials;
    5. Upon completion of each program, update and retain materials for future use.
    • Update Written Materials
    1. Maintain consistency throughout materials;
    2. Ensure written materials are consistent with PowerPoint presentations;
    3. Proof materials and verify grammar is optimized;
    4. Upon completion of program, make required corrections as needed.
    • Post Program Evaluations
    1. Assist in developing program evaluations;
    2. Program WYSIWYG interface for attendees;
    3. Produce final report for distribution to program leadership.
    • Testing Material Management
    1. Collect and analyze testing materials and statistics.
    • Create Certificates of Attendance forms
    1. Calculate continuing education hours from preliminary & final programs;
    2. Manage scan plans for each program;
    3. Validate any special circumstances, e.g., missed scans, substitute speakers;
    4. Combine data for reporting;
    5. Assist with non-school program attendance management;
    6. Address attendee concerns post-program.
    • Challenge and Retake Exams
    1. Assist in developing challenge and retake exams;
    2. Proctor exams in office as needed;
    3.  Grade and record exams;
    4. Review exam results with staff.
    • Occasional Travel (4 to 8 weeks per year)
    • Other duties as periodically assigned

    Additional Information:
    This newly created position is a full-time, permanent employment opportunity.
