    Position: Junior ID / Instructional Design Intern

    Level: Contract/Short Term/Temporary

    Role Summary
    The Junior ID / Instructional Design Intern is a role designed for a candidate that is interested in gaining experience as an Instructional Designer and E-Learning Developer. While there is some modest pay for this internship opportunity (generally between $15-$30/hr depending upon budget and prior experience), the primary focus of this opportunity is to gain professional experience and demonstrate skill mastery to be recommended for transition into a full-time role with a client organization. Most opportunities range from 100-500 hours, and some may turn into longer-term contracts.

    Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions
    • Strong writing, communication, and customer service skills
    • Independent, able to work alone and research to find answers
    • Team player, able to both seek input and receive feedback from others to make a stronger project deliverable
    • Logical, able to read maps, interpret visual diagrams and create tables or process documents
    • A high tolerance for ambiguity and able to set personal milestones and meet them consistently

    Required Skills and Qualifications
    A candidate must have applicable transferable skills in the following three areas:
    • Previous career or prior life experience as a trainer, writer, educator, human resources, communications, or related industry professional
    • Bachelor or Graduate degree in Learning Technologies, Communications, Education, English, Psychology, Human Resources or related field of study
    • Strong passion for learning with an interest in both instructional design and the development of training or performance support resources (live, virtual and e-learning)

    Preferred Skills and Qualifications
    • Higher education or self-taught experience using a time-line based development tool such as Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia or similar (must have a sample project to share for each tool listed)
    • Experience in two or more of the following industries: Financial Services, Healthcare, Hospitality, Manufacturing, Retail, Telecommunications
    • Experience in the Education, Government, Non-Profit sectors
    • Volunteer experience with a non-profit organization
    • Experience in the performing arts (music, theater, etc.)
    • Experience in graphic design or visual art
